Matthew 26:33

Peter said to him in reply, "Though all may have their faith in you shaken, mine will never be." Jesus said to him, "Amen, I say to you, this very night before the cock crows, you will deny me three times."

Peter said to him, "Even though I should have to die with you, I will not deny you." And all the disciples spoke likewise.

How easy it is to say as Peter did. His intentions were good and I'm sure he meant what he said to Jesus at that moment. But once again, how easy it is to say, no matter how strong or true the sentiment is.

But when it comes to the trial...

even the strong like Peter...

who saw Christ with his own eyes day after day...

denied him when he, Peter, felt like his life was at risk...

he might have even thought, "would they crucify me, too? Along with Jesus?"

So Peter denied even knowing him...

Not once, not twice but three times...

It's easy to be strong in your mind when nothing's at stake, when you don't feel threatened...

Our country is going through some difficult and strange times...

and it won't be over soon...

Lord, I pray you give me the strength to endure and persevere, for patience in adversity, and to do the right & strong thing for those who depend on me...

Don't allow me to be put to the test...

and I pray you send us a cure to everything that we need in this moment:

Cures for illness of the physical body, of the soul and of the mind...bless those who work tirelessly & those who work 'tho tired, for our well-being...

for our world to move forward with in truth & faith in You. We ask you this, Lord, to bless us, our country, our families, and to have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Jesus, I Trust In You
