Where Is Your Place?

From John Chapter 14, starting at verse one, (John 14:1) it says, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God. Have faith also in me. In my father's house, there are many dwelling places. If there weren't, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be."

We often think of this as in heaven. There's a dwelling place for me in heaven. Jesus is going off to prepare a place in heaven. And this is true. I heard a wonderful priest from an online ministry say that this can also mean a place in the body of Christ...

You have a place in the body of Christ, no matter who you are or what you're like...

You have a heart and a personality that the world needs. So use it for good in your own unique way. Be strong in who you are. I know this is easier said than done, but that's what you're working towards:

Being your true self....

AKA living your best life... 😉

Who is the person that you want to be? God loves you so much just as you are already, but he loves you so much that he doesn't want to just leave you where you are...

he always wants you moving forward. He wants to bring you closer to him, and He will do it, if you allow him to.

I don't know what your job is, but if you're a working mom like me, you have two big jobs at least...

1. Mother This is probably one of, if not the most important role that you could have on earth. If you can raise your children to look to God, and block out all of the misleading crap...

they will be strong and successful in the eyes of God. Whether that includes earthly riches or not, their spirit will be detached from the things that don't matter...

and their hearts will be tethered to truth, what matters, will be less likely to be duped and more likely to get through tough times...

and it starts with you...

If you can look to Jesus, you can get through anything. Jesus doesn't promise it will be easy, but he did promise to get us through it.

You have to live this out, because your kids are watching your every move. They're watching how you talk to yourself. They're watching what you say and what you say to yourself, even when you think no one is listening...

2.  In the body of Christ This is who you are, who you were made to be. God, the father, designed you and only you can live out what you were designed to do....

You might  think of this as living up to your potential, but it's living out your divine design, the one God had in mind when he created you.

You might be thinking, "Oh, well we have very different personalities. I think I probably have to be more like that nice girl in the office, or I have to be more of X and less of Z..."

No!

You be you because God designed YOU.

If you're strong-willed and you're the type of person that doesn't take no for an answer, use your strong-willed personality for good. Don't use your strong will to be a jerk...

If you have more of a quiet or chill personality, you don't have to go out and say "Hey, everybody, I'm here,! I'm shining!  Here's my light and if you don't like it close your eyes!"

No, you don't have to be that way. We all have a place. We're all in the body of Christ. Some of us are the hands, some of us are the feet, the eyes...

Be you. You have a place in the body of Christ.

This is what is meant when you hear "live out your gifts," and "use your talents.

Whatever your personality is, use it for good.

There is no one like you!
